The West End production of Yes, Prime Minister has recouped the entire cost of its run, less than five weeks after its first performance. The box office has already taken over £2.5 million, and has welcomed distinguished guests from the world of politics and beyond, including the Chancellor George Osborne, the Home Secretary Theresa May, former Home Secretary David Blunkett, King Constantine II of Greece and Gloria Hunniford.
As experts continue to predict financial doom and gloom in this period of economic downturn, Yes, Prime Minister has shown that the public know a good comedy when they see one. In an unprecedented public-spirited gesture, the show's producers have offered the coalition government the opportunity to invest in the upcoming national tour.
