Donmar Warehouse's upcoming revival of Brian Friel's FAITH HEALER has welcomed Ron Cook to the cast, starring opposite previously announced Stephen Dillane and Gina McKee.

The Daily Mail writes that Cook "will play the manager of a man who makes a living healing the sick." Cook is coming off a run in Jamie Lloyd's production of THE HOMECOMING at Trafalgar Studios.

The actor was nominated for an Olivier Award for his role in JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK at the Donmar in 2000. Among his other stage credits are THE SEAFARER at the Royal National Theatre, TWELFTH NIGHT and HAMLET at Wyndham's, KING LEAR and RICHARD II at the Donmar, and Michael Grandage's HENRY V. He also starred in the 2009 Broadway transfer of HAMLET.

Directed by Lyndsey Turner, who returns to the Donmar after her productions of Friel's PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME! and FATHERS AND SONS, FAITH HEALER begins previews 23 June for an opening 28 June. The play runs through 20 August 2016.

Throughout the remote and forgotten corners of the British Isles, Frank Hardy offers the promise of redemption to the sick and the suffering. But his is an unreliable gift, a dangerous calling which brings him into conflict with his wife Grace and his manager Teddy. Their accounts of their lives together and their memories of the past collide as they attempt to understand the power which lies at the heart of Frank's ministry. FAITH HEALER is about the possibility of genius, and the certainty of failure.
