From the producers of the smash-hit show PUTTIN' ON THE RITZ comes the dazzling song and dance extravaganza THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT! on a UK tour. Each venue will feature a very special guest alongside the cast of West End Singers and Dancers, including one of biggest stars of musical theatre RUTHIE HENSHALL, whose multi-award winning career has seen her star in some of the most successful musicals of the past 3 decades. The highly popular singer, entertainer and presenter, JANE McDONALD will join the tour for 3 weeks, Britain's favourite vocal harmony group, THE OVERTONES will also join the production for 7 weeks and the Classical Brit Nominee highly popular young tenor and former G4 front man JONATHAN ANSELL will join the cast in Windsor. The much loved star of Stage and screen ELAINE C SMITH will be the special guest star in Glasgow.
Four times Olivier-nominated musical theatre artist, RUTHIE HENSHALL has played the lead role in many of the most highly-acclaimed, long-running successful award-winning musicals in the West End and on Broadway of the last 30 years, including Chicago, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Cats and Crazy For You which catapulted Ruthie into a major musical West End star. Ruthie is also in high demand as a concert performer touring and performing extensively in the UK, the USA and Australia. JANE MCDONALD has recently received rave reviews and standing ovations for her lead role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. She achieved platinum status with her first number one album and her live concerts have sold out at numerous venues across the UK including London's Albert Hall. Jane was also a panelist on the highly popular UK ITV 1 Daytime Show Loose Women for 10 years. The much-loved vocal group THE OVERTONES have achieved sell-out tours, sold over 1,000,000 albums and have just celebrated their fifth consecutive top 10 album. They have had performed at major events and concerts and are seen regularly on national TV, including a performance at the Queens' Jubliee Concert. Elaine C Smith will perform the Glasgow dates. Best known for her lead role in the BBC2 hit Rab C Nesbitt, Elaine has worked extensively in radio, television, film and theatre over the last 30 years. Jonathan Ansell has sold over 2 million albums and was the front man of the highly popular group G4, before becoming a highly successful solo artist as a young tenor.
THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT celebrates the biggest hits of the 40's and 50's including music by Lerner and Loewe, Rodgers and Hammerstein, as well as Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.
