A new cast is announced for The Woman In Black, now in its 21st year in the West End. From APRIL 6th 2010, Michael Mears (Harper Regan, Nation) will play Arthur Kipps, alongside Orlando Wells (As If, The History Boys) who will play the young actor who retells the story of Arthur Kipps.

The Woman in Black, one of the most exciting, gripping and successful theatre events ever performed, is now in its 21st year in the West End in a production revisited by its original director Robin Herford.

Michael Mears is a regular on some of the biggest stages in Britain. His theatre credits include All's Well That End's Well, Nation, Harper Regan (all National Theatre), Measure for Measure (Peter Hall Company & RSC), You Never Can Tell (Peter Hall Company), Hamlet, Jubilee, and The Comedy of Errors (RSC), His screen credits include 3 series of Sharpe (ITV), two series of The Lenny Henry Show and the My Family Christmas Special (both BBC TV). He won a Fringe First Award for his plays Tomorrow We Do The Sky and Soup, which he wrote and performed at the Traverse, Edinburgh, and the Lyric, Hammersmith.

Orlando Wells' recent theatre credits include Katrina (Jericho House), Our Country's Good (Watermill Theatre), The History Boys (West End), Pirandello's Henry IV (Donmar Warehouse) and seasons with the RSC. Television credits include 4 series of the drama As If (Carnival/C4), A Very British Sex Scandal (Blast Films), A Rather English Marriage and Slave Dynasty (BBC TV).

Unanimously acclaimed by the critics, Woman in Black combines the power and intensity of live theatre with the cinematic quality of film noir. Over seven million people have been transported into a terrifying world in an unremitting drama that has them literally jumping out of their seats.

"A truly nerve shredding experience."
