Orton, Gower, Williams & More Join Musical Youth UK For MY KIND OF SUNDAY

MYUK (Musical Youth UK) will stage a spectacular showcase at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on Sunday August 11, which will bring together a cast of over 350 young voices and an array of West End star vocalists. "My Kind Of Sunday" will be a tribute to musical theatre to celebrate the first anniversary of the MYUK organization in an "explosion of dance and song".

MYUK, founded in 2012 by Gwent-based Jay Coleman, is a national youth musical theatre organisation committed to nurturing, guiding and inspiring young people through musical theatre performance which will also give them "a worth, a focus, a belief in themselves". Its performance hubs in London, Manchester, Bristol, Newport and Cardiff have already staged highly acclaimed productions of Les Miserables and its Newport hub recently performed the world staged premiere of the epic Welsh historical musical, My Land's Shore (with music by one of MYUK's patrons, Christopher J. Orton). Upcoming productions include Footloose and Miss Saigon.

Young performers from all of MYUK's hubs will be joined onstage at Drury Lane by a stellar cast of West End performers, including:

Kit Orton (Spamalot, The Hired Man, Peter Pan, The Hot Mikado), JoNathan Williams (Les Miserables, Godspell), Kelly Anne Gower (Bohemian Rhapsody, Blood Brothers, We Will Rock You, Les Miserables), Ben Evans (Jersey Boys, Monkey Business, Mamma Mia, Les Miserables), Rhiannon Sarah Porter (Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables) .
