According to the Daily Mail, Oliver Ford Davies is set to star in David Wood's adaptation of Michelle Magorian's Goodnight Mr. Tom at the West End's Phoenix Theatre, opening Nov. 22, 2012.

Davies played the same role in a fairly recent Chichester Festival Theatre production. The play is about a boy evacuated from London during the Battle of Britain and taken to live with a hermitlike man who becomes his friend.

Goodnight Mr. Tom will play for nine weeks on the West End, followed by a UK tour.

Davies received the 1989 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a New Play for Racing Demon and was nominated for an Olivier for his performance in Wyndham Theatre's Absolutely! (perhaps) as well as his portrayal of Polonius in Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Hamlet at the Novello Theatre, featuring David Tennant and Patrick Stewart. Davies has also appeared on a slew of television series and in several films, including Star Wars I, II and III as Sio Bibble.
