Daniel Boys To Host West End Live June 20

West End favourite Daniel Boys will host West End Live on Sunday 20th June. He will preside over the proceedings between 12 - 6 as well as singing a couple of numbers.

Daniel Boys is an award winning performer whose career encompasses West End musicals, national tours as well as numerous concerts and recordings.

His appearance on the hugely successful BBC TV talent show Any Dream Will Do in 2007 firmly established him as one of the UK's brightest emerging musical talents. Since then Daniel has been in strong demand to perform at a variety of high profile concerts and events. As well as performing alongside the likes of Bryn Terfel, Maria Friedman and John Barrowman, he was honoured to be asked to sing at Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th birthday Concert in Hyde Park, is a regular guest on BBC Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night, has toured the UK in a concert celebrating the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and last year he was John Barrowman's special guest on his UK tour, culminating in a performance at the world famous Royal Albert Hall.

Daniel has recently finished a successful two year run in the hit West End show Avenue Q which garnered him the 2009 What's On Stage Award for 'Best Takeover in a Role'. Further stage credits include; Anthony in Sweeney Todd (Royal FestivAl Hall), Austin in I Love You Because (Landor), Parson Nathanial (u/s) in Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds (UK Tour), Doody in Grease (Scandanavian Tour), The Lover in The Good Friday (Bridewell), Tony in West Side Story (European Tour), Roger in Grease (Victoria Palace & Japan Tour), Morino in Sunset Boulevard (National Tour) and Alternate Mark in Rent (National Tour & Prince of Wales).

Daniel's much anticipated debut album So Close, which was released last year, has proved immensely popular with his fans around the world and is still a best seller at London's Dress Circle. He can also be heard on numerous other recordings including Only You Can Save Mankind, Act One and John Barrowman's hit album Music, Music, Music where he can be heard duetting with John on 'I Know Him So Well'.

Daniel recently made his solo cabaret debut for three sold out performances at the renowned Pizza On The Park with more gigs scheduled throughout the year. He has also just completed the workshop of a new musical Painted Lady: the Princess Caraboo Scandal (Bristol Old Vic & Finborough) and later this year will return to the West End when he takes on the role of Christian in the London Premiere of Wolfboy at the Trafalgar Studios.

WEST END LIVE

West End Live returns to Leicester Square for another year in June 2010, with a lineup of performances from hit musicals and theatre shows.

West End Live 2010 is a unique theatre event that brings a selection of top productions out into the open, live in Leicester Square. Musical fans can catch acts from all the big West End shows including Legally Blonde, Wicked, Dirty Dancing, Chicago, Mamma Mia!, Stomp and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, to name but a few on a fresh and exciting programme for 2010.

Visitors to West End Live can enjoy a range of exhibits and displays as well as the live performances. Exhibits will be on display from The Science Museum, the London Film Museum, the V&A, the Forbidden Planet Store and more during a weekend of interactive fun for the crowds. Other highlights include special performances from the Fireman Sam Show as well as music presented by Toby Anstis.

The West End Live event is expected to attracted some 200,000 people this year. Londoners have a special opportunity to enjoy live West End theatre for free, in a high spirited, open air event. Representing theatre shows, or spectacular London events like the Notting Hill Carnival or Pride London, various different acts will be on hand to entertain all day long.

West End Live has become one of the most popular summer events in the capital, attracting thousands of children of adults to Central London each year. The crowds will be in high spirits, out to enjoy live theatre and music in the sun. Further acts confirmed for the 2010 event include songs from Hair, Grease, We Will Rock You, Oliver!, Sister Act, Live Never Dies and Disney's The Lion King.

West End Live at Leicester Square takes place from Saturday 19th June - Sunday 20th June 2010. Opening hours are 11am - 6pm on Saturday and 12pm - 6pm on Sunday.
