Costumes carefully selected from Angels' illustrious back catalogue are now on display at The Old Truman Brewery as part of the DRESSED BY ANGELS, 175 YEARS OF COSTUMES exhibition, running now through 3 January 2016.

Spectacular new highlights added to the century-spanning exhibition include:

- Gwyneth Paltrow's sumptuous SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE gown (which joins existing costumes from the film belonging to Dame Judi Dench and Joseph Fiennes);

- Dita von Teese's showgirl dress from MELISSA PLASTIC DREAM's magazine shoot;

- Felicity Jones' dress as featured in Stephen Hawking biopic THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING;

- An Arctic Monkey 'Elf' costume as featured on the 2007 NME Christmas cover (which also featured in SANTA CLAUS THE MOVIE starring Dudley Moore);

- Kasabian's West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum album cover costumes,

- Dawn French's Queen Amidala costume as worn in a STAR WARS themed Comic Relief sketch;

- Polar Bear costume worn by Judi Dench in MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS;

- And an Angels family-favourite -- a staggeringly preserved dress from 1860 -- a testament to British skill and craftsmanship.

The exhibition tells the story behind the world's greatest costume house, Angels. Angels has been dressing the world for 175 years, including countless Oscar and BAFTA Award winning films, and Olivier and Tony Award winning theatre. Over seven generations, Angels' collection has become a rich treasure trove not only of costumes, but of costume house history.

The new pieces join an awe-inspiring collection featuring CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, STAR WARS, THE IRONY LADY and THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL; TV shows MORECAMBE AND WISE, DR WHO, ONLY FOOLS & HORSES and DOWNTON ABBEY; and the blockbuster musical WICKED.

Visitors can see bespoke costumes made for Fred Astaire, Noel Coward, Laurence Olivier, Tom Baker, Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep, to name just a few. Alongside the costumes will be photographs and fascinating letters and artefacts, providing an insight into showbiz history.

Tickets are on sale from dressedbyangels.co.uk and is currently booking through to Jan 3rd.
