Celebrating his 80th birthday this year, Stephen Sondheim has become one of the most influential composer/lyricists of the 20th Century, writing the lyrics for great classics such as West Side Story and Gypsy, as well as the smash hits including Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd and A Little Night Music. He's been awarded 8 Tony Awards (more than any other composer), 8 Grammy Awards, and 8 Drama Desk Awards, as well as a Pulitzer Prize in 1985 for Sunday in the Park With George.

West End stars Lucy May Barker (Spring Awakening, The Crucible, Earthquakes in London), Helena Blackman (How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? (BBC), South Pacific (Uk Tour - TMA Nominee), West End Premiere of Sondheim's Saturday Night), Joseph Connor (Flashdance, We Will Rock You, Wicked), Sam Harrison (Avenue Q, Crazy for You, Too Marvellous for Words), Jeremy Legat (Wicked, Canoe Man (BBC), Homemade Fusion), Anton Stephans (Porgy and Bess, Starlight Express (UK Tour), Hey, Mr Producer!) and Charlotte Wakefield (Spring Awakening, 2010 Olivier Awards Nominee - Best Actress) as well as a special guest still to be announced bring a new lift to classics by putting a special twist on each song - expect gender reversals, mashups (yes, real ones!) and Gypsy Rose Lee's favourite strippers, each with a gimmick of their own.

Directed by Damian Sandys - tick, tick...BOOM! (Union Theatre), Oklahoma! (Assistant, UK Tour), I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change (Edinburgh Festival & London transfer) and Musical Direction by George Dyer (Zombie Prom, Shoshana Bean - Live in the West End)... you're advised to book early for this event as it's going to be one not to be missed.

All profits from the concert will go to the charity TheatreMad, which raises money to support those living with HIV and AIDs, as well as those in the entertainment industry suffering hardship through long-term illness.
