As the voting deadline approaches, it's all to play for in this year's BroadwayWorld UK Awards... On the new musicals front, I'm not sure it's been a vintage year - I wasn't especially fond of any of the four West End nominees - but because I don't want to live in a world where the truly wretched I Can't Sing is rewarded, my vote goes to Urinetown, even if its transfer into town sadly lacks its most appealing assets (all to be found on Richard Fleeshman's person).

One of my favourite performers Gavin Creel is in the running for Best Performance in a Long-Running West End show for The Book of Mormon, but I've never quite been convinced that that score serves his (almost unbearably beautiful) voice especially well, so my vote goes instead to Willemijn Verkaik, who took the now-familiar character of Elphaba to the next level in her sadly curtailed run at the Apollo Victoria.

Elsewhere I'm hoping for wins for the delightful Southwark Playhouse (my favourite of all Fringe venues), West End Live (must actually go one year instead of just looking at bits on YouTube) and I would quite like Cool Rider Live to somehow romp to victory in every single category. Even Best New Play. ESPECIALLY Best New Play.

Don't agree? Want to have your say? Vote! Deadline is Friday at midnight.
