The Unicorn Theatre will be taking part in this year's Standard Chartered Great City Run on Monday 24 July in London's square mile in the City of London, in order to raise money to help families and children in need of support.

Actor Julian Rhind-Tutt will join team RUN UNICORN, which includes six runners from Unicorn sponsors PwC, Unicorn Parent Ambassador Georgette Purdey, Usher DJ Hassan and General Manager Luisa Hinchliff. Watch the trailer here www.unicorntheatre.com/rununicorn.

The run takes places around closed off streets in London and will begin at 7.15pm on Monday 24 July with the start and finish at Honourble Artillery Company, Armoury House, City Road, London EC1Y 2BQ.

Julian Rhind-Tutt said "It's an honour to run for the Unicorn; and naturally a huge boost for them to have a natural athlete giving everything they've got. Talking of which, the amazing work the Unicorn Theatre does needs support now more than ever. Anything and everything we can spare. Accessing the arts is not getting any easier, so great and important theatres like the Unicorn really need our help."

Parent Ambassador, Georgette Purdey said "I have been bringing my children to the Unicorn Theatre for years and at every age and stage it has provided us with the highest quality theatre and a fabulous family experience. I am running because I want to make sure more children get access to this brilliant space."

Money raised through this unique 5km corporate running challenge will help provide much needed funds to run projects and to subsidise tickets to children who need it. This vital work supports the theatre's belief that all children deserve the same access to inspiring and creative experiences.

Donations to RUN UNICORN support community projects such as Creative Young Mums - a programme in which local mums under 24 are supported to confidently and creatively engage with their babies. Funds raised also enable the theatre to run drama-based workshops and projects for marginalised groups, such as refugee children and disabled children, and enables the theatre to subsidise around 6,000 free tickets every year to schools from areas of deprivation.
