Roberto Araujo is set to join GALA Hispanic Theatre's production of In The Heights as Piragua Guy from tonight, May 25 to May 28, marking the 2nd time the Mexican actor and photographer has performed in the Tony-winning musical.

Araujo first portrayed the role earlier in the year at Axelrod Theatre in New Jersey under the direction of Luis Salgado. He is making his debut in the US Spanish Premiere of the show in Washington, D.C.

Roberto Araujo has also appeared in the regional productions of West Side Story, Evita, Les Miserables and Xanadu and is also a published photographer.

In the Heights has a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes and music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The original Broadway production opened in 2008 and won the Tony Award for Best Musical.

The cast includes Juan Luis Espinal, Laura Lebron, Verónica Álvarez Robles, Vaughn Ryan Midder, Michelle Ríos, Rafael Beato, Scherezade Quiroga, Shadia Fairuz, José Fernando Capellán, Felix Marchany and Myriam Gadri.

The production was directed by Original cast member and Latin assistant choreographer Luis Salgado.
