According to Variety, Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys star John Lloyd Young has inked a TV deal.

Young, whose contract signing him to the role of vocally flexible Four Seasons singer Frankie Valli ends on October 1st, has signed a one-year talent holding deal with ABC/Touchstone Television.  No specific television vehicle has been announced for the star.

ABC has previously picked up Tony Award-winners for TV shows and movies: Hairspray's Marissa Jaret Winokur starred in the television movie "Beautiful Girl" and a pilot that was not picked up, while Spamalot's Sara Ramirez is now among the cast of "Grey's Anatomy." Bernadette Peters and Christine Baranski also starred in the pilot "Adopted" last year; it was not picked up.

Young's other credits include Summer of the Swans at the Lucille Lortel Theatre and The Drawer Boy at Paper Mill Playhouse. In addition to the Tony, he also won Theatre World and Drama Desk Awards for his work in Jersey Boys.

Jersey Boys, currently running at the August Wilson Theatre, is the Tony Award-winning story of the Four Seasons. Directed by Des McAnuff, it also stars Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer and Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff.   Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.
