The November edition of The Dance Centre’s popular Discover Dance! noon series highlights the art of flamenco with an exciting double bill of works by Calle Verde (comprising Maria Avila, Michelle Harding, and Peter Mole) and Jhoely Triana Flamenco.
This double bill features their latest creations: Calle Verde’s La Faena is loosely based on a bullfight and addresses the issue of being able to alter the trajectory of a narrative that seems inevitable. Triana’s solo Arboles (Trees) represents honouring our roots and gathering strength from the past to reach new heights.
This thrilling performance showcases flamenco’s technical brilliance and emotional power, with heart-stirring live music and singing. There will be a post-show artist talkback.
