Sheffield Theatres have launched a fundraising raffle to win tickets to see Homeland star Damian Lewis in the eagerly anticipated West End production of American Buffalo, directed by Sheffield Theatres' Artistic Director Daniel Evans.

The exclusive prize package includes two top-priced tickets to the evening performance of David Mamet's play American Buffalo at Wyndham's Theatre, an overnight stay at a Central London hotel and return travel by train from Sheffield to London.

Raffle tickets priced at £5.00 each can be purchased until Thursday 21 May from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office or online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 22 May and the lucky winner will receive two tickets to see the production at 7.30pm on Saturday 6 June, one night at the Holiday Inn Mayfair and return train travel provided by East Midlands Trains.

As Sheffield Theatres is a registered charity, fundraising is vital to its long-term sustainability. Each year, the theatre aims to raise over £250,000 through donations, grants and the support of local businesses, enabling it to create bold and ambitious productions, encourage young audiences into the theatre via subsidised ticket schemes such as their Live For 5 initiative and to engage with the local community.

Starring Damian Lewis, John Goodman and Tom Sturridge, American Buffalo examines the fickle nature of honour among thieves. As three small-time crooks plan one big-time heist, a tragedy of errors spins this razor-sharp and darkly funny play into a blistering account of divided loyalties, insatiable greed and a coveted Buffalo nickel.

Damian Lewis won unanimous acclaim for his role in Emmy and Golden Globe-winning drama Homeland and has more recently starred as Henry VIII in the hugely popular BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel's best-selling novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies. Internationally renowned American actor John Goodman is best known for Roseanne and The Big Lebowski, and Tom Sturridge was nominated for a Tony Award for his recent Broadway performance in Orphans.

Sheffield Theatres' Chief Executive Dan Bates commented: 'I'm delighted that we can offer our audiences such an exciting and exclusive prize package. This raffle will support us in raising vital funds to continue to produce bold and ambitious work and engage with many more people throughout the City Region.'

Raffle tickets can be purchased from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office in person, by calling 0114 249 6000 or online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.
