The cast of Sheffield Theatres' production of Boeing Boeing made a flying visit to Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield this week.

Stars, including Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead actress Julia Deakin, travelled to the Yorkshire airport to celebrate the start of the play which is running at the Crucible Theatre until Saturday 7 June.

Boeing Boeing, which is sponsored by Doncaster Sheffield Airport and Thomson, is an hilarious comedy written by the French playwright Marc Camoletti. One of the most performed French plays throughout the world, it tells the story of Bernard, who has three air hostess girlfriends - none of whom know about each other! Hilarity ensues as all three land in his apartment at the same time.

The cast visited the airport to meet staff and members of cabin crew from Thomson, the largest airline that operates out of Doncaster.

Steve Gill, managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: 'We are delighted to support this production at Sheffield Theatres. Boeing Boeing has an obvious aviation connection to ourselves and Thomson, so we are delighted the cast has been able to take the time to visit the airport. It's great to see that the interest and response in the play from the public has been excellent already. It's fantastically funny and a great evening of entertainment.'

Thomson and First Choice offer flights to 20 destinations from Doncaster Sheffield Airport. It recently announced once-a-week flights to Antalya in Turkey and the Greek island of Zante which start from May 2015.

Boeing Boeing is on stage at the Crucible Theatre until Saturday 7 June. Tickets are on sale now, priced from £10.00 - £23.00 and are available from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office on 0114 249 6000 or online at www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk. A transaction fee of £1.50 (£1.00 online) applies to all bookings made at the Box Office excluding cash.
