The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich has today announced the cast of their new actor-musician production of SWEET CHARITY, which runs from Thursday 3 to Saturday 26 September 2015, directed by Artistic Director Peter Rowe.

From the theatre that produced actor-musician versions of the hit musicals Our House, 20th Century Boy and Guys and Dolls, rehearsals have started today for what looks like another big show!

They are pleased to announce Katie Birtill will be playing the lead role of Charity Valentine,

Graduating from The Royal Academy of Music in 2010, her theatre credits include The Boy who fell into a Book (SJT), Priscilla (UK Tour), Dreamboats and Petticoats (UK Tour), A little Night Music (Sir Jack Lyons Theatre); creating the role of Hayley in the original cast for Jet Set Go! (George Square, Edinburgh and Theatre 503, London); She also played Sophie the Psephologist for More or Less on BBC Radio 4 (Simon Terrington). Her vocal credits include; backing vocals for Ramin Karimloo's Road to Find Out Tour 2012, and backing vocals for Russell Watson's La Voce UK tour, 2011.

They can announce today that the cast will include New Wolsey Theatre actor-musician favourites James Haggie as Oscar Lindquist, Dan de Cruz as Daddy Brubeck, Sophie Byrne as Helene, and Nicola Bryan as Carmen.

Their impressive cast of actor-musicians also include Katia Sartini, Giovanna Ryan, Elisa Boyd, Lindsay Goodhand, Paul Kissaun, Sarah Scowen, Kieran Bailey, Rachel Nottingham, Christopher Fry, Matthew Hinchliffe, Greg Last, and Jeffrey Harmer as film star Vittorio Vidal.

The New Wolsey Theatre are also delighted to be working with designer Libby Watson, musical director Greg Palmer, Choreographer Francesca Jaynes, lighting designer Nick Richings, sound designer Drew Baumohl and video designer Will Duke.
