THE MARLOWE Theatre is inviting young reviewers to take part in a competition as part of the National Theatre Connections festival.

The Marlowe Youth Theatre's premiere performance for Connections is on Monday 17 March. The play, called Tomorrow, is a new piece of writing by Simon Vinnicombe (Cradle/EastEnders), and will be staged at The Marlowe Studio in front of an invited audience.

The winner of the competition, which is open to anyone aged between 13 and 19, will review Tomorrow and their piece will be published by The Public Reviews, an online platform which features reviews from the West End and across the UK.

This is the second year The Marlowe Theatre has taken part in the Connections festival. After the preview performance, The Marlowe Youth Theatre Senior Company will be joined in May by nine other groups from across the south east to perform their plays. One of these productions may be selected for subsequent performance at the National Theatre itself, giving young people the chance to perform in London for the first time.

To enter the competition, young reviewers are invited to submit a review of a piece of theatre, cinema, or television, seen this year, of no more than 300 words to nadia.newstead@marlowetheatre.com, by Wednesday 12 March.

Tickets for the Connections Festival in May will go on sale later this month. Call the Box Office on 01227 787787, or go to marlowetheatre.com for more details and to book.
