Banter Productions in association with Jermyn Street Theatre are delighted to present the World Premiere of Jonathan Lewis's A Level Playing Field for a limited season at the Jermyn Street Theatre, from 14th April - 9th May, directed by Chris Popert.

In the music room of a top fee-paying London school, a group of 18-year-olds must sit out an hour of "isolation" to cover a clash of exams and avoid the risk of cheating. But their supervising teacher has failed to turn up. In dealing with the dilemmas of the situation, the pupils gradually reveal a darker side to the pressures they are under.

An 11-strong teenage cast will portray their own generation in this roller-coaster tale of hope, identity and shattered dreams. A hilariously frightening take on the aspirations of the so-called 'Me Me Me Generation', this dark new comedy blows the debate on educational values wide open in the authentic voice of those for whom it matters most - the kids.

Jonathan Lewis' debut play Our Boys won the Writer's Guild Award for Best New Fringe Play in 1993 and was revived in 2012 at the West End's Duchess Theatre featuring Laurence Fox, Matthew Lewis and Arthur Darvill in the cast.

"[Jonathan] Lewis, who based this drama on his own experience, has a fine ear for the razor-sharp humour..." Jane Shilling, Daily Telegraph, on Our Boys

Jonathan co-wrote and starred in the one man show I Found My Horn, based on Jasper Rees' book of the same name, which opened to critical acclaim in 2008. It subsequently toured the UK and had a run at the Hampstead Theatre in 2009 before coming to the Trafalgar Studios in the West End in 2014. Jonathan will be in the Touring Consortium's production of Arthur Miller's A View from a Bridge from the 4 March - 2 May.

Cast will include Jack Bass, Eve Delaney, Christian Hines, Abe Lewis, Jojo Macari, India Opzoomer, Finlay Stroud, Joe Taylor and Lydia Williams. Further casting to be announced shortly.
