Theatre Tulsa will extend its production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast for a fourth week, even before opening the show on Jan. 11.
The run will now be extended to include four more performances over the weekend of Feb. 1-3.
The decision to extend the run was due to strong early ticket sales, said Jarrod Kopp, executive director of Theatre Tulsa. "Reservations for 'Beauty and the Beast' have skyrocketed over the past few weeks, with some performances already coming close to selling out. The audience demand was so strong, we knew we needed to provide more opportunities for fans and families to enjoy this magical production."
Because "Beauty and the Beast" is so popular among families, Theatre Tulsa is also making the fourth weekend shows more accessible to young children with more matinees and earlier evening start times.
The four additional performances will take place at 7 pm on Feb. 1, 2pm and 7pm on Feb. 2 and 2pm on Feb. 3.
All of the fourth weekend performances go on sale today beginning at 10am through the Tulsa Performing Arts Center box office. Tickets are available at tulsapac.com or by calling 918-596-7111.
