Cabrillo Music Theatre announces the 2015-2016 season of shows. Three shows new to Cabrillo and to the Civic Arts Plaza, and a returning classic last performed here in 1996, "A Season for All Seasons" has a show for every season of the year, and all are crowd-pleasers that everyone will enjoy! All of Cabrillo's productions are locally produced, auditioned and rehearsed in Southern California, and performed exclusively at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.

Cabrillo Music Theatre's 2015-16 season includes three shows in the larger Kavli Theatre (DAMN YANKEES, CHILDREN OF EDEN, and THE LITTLE MERMAID) and one in the more intimate Scherr Forum, the perfectly-named A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM. Says Wilkenfeld, "We've really enjoyed taking one of our shows into the Scherr Forum, and A FUNNY THING.... is a perfect fit for the space. Audiences will be part of the action - and part of the laughs - next winter!" In fact, each show makes theatre magic for a season of the year, making Cabrillo's A SEASON FOR ALL SEASONS a year-round joyful celebration.

Cabrillo's 22nd season is something to celebrate. "We're back after an ambitious fundraising campaign, and we're only around because of the support of our subscribers, donors and community partners," says Cabrillo Music Theatre's Artistic Director, Lewis Wilkenfeld. "Our 2015-2016 season is dedicated to our community!" Adds Wilkenfeld, "Without this support in 2014, there would also be no service to the Military, to older Americans, to in-need children and animals. And no stepping stone to success for all of our young talent. The community really came through for Cabrillo Music Theatre. And, now, it's our turn to come through - with four great shows!"

DAMN YANKEES
October 16-25, 2015
Music by Richard Adler
Lyrics by Jerry Ross
Book by George Abbott and Douglas Wallop

You've been asking for us to bring back DAMN YANKEES, last performed here in 1996! Middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil, also known as Mr. Applegate, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. As young baseball sensation Joe Hardy, he transforms the hapless Washington Senators into a winning team, only to realize the true worth of the life he's left behind. Colorful characters, smashing dance numbers, and songs including "Whatever Lola Wants (Lola Gets)," "You Gotta Have Heart," and "Those Were The Good Old Days," are show highlights. DAMN YANKEES ran for over 1,000 performances on Broadway, enjoyed a successful film version and a popular Broadway revival, and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Light, fast-paced and devilishly clever, DAMN YANKEES promises to start the 2015-2016 season with a Home Run!

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM
January 29 - February 14, 2016

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM .... comes to the Scherr Forum! The comedy classic's Civic Arts Plaza debut is a perfect fit for the cozy confines of the Scherr, and this mixture of slapstick, farce, mistaken identity, music and dance has to be seen live to be believed! The winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, A FUNNY THING..... has enjoyed two successful Broadway revivals, and has showcased generations of comic actors from Zero Mostel and Phil Silvers to Nathan Lane and Whoopi Goldberg. Cabrillo Music Theatre promises "Comedy Tonight" at every performance of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE (Scherr) FORUM

CHILDREN OF EDEN

Every year, Cabrillo provides a delightful new show to surprise our audiences. This year, meet the CHILDREN OF EDEN! Based on the stories of Adam and Eve, and of Noah and the Ark, it's actually the story of parents and children.... of knowing when to hold on tightly to family.... and of knowing when to let go. In other words, it's the story of all of us. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (WICKED, PIPPIN, GODSPELL and more) and script by John Caird (co-director of LES MISERABLES), CHILDREN OF EDEN fills the stage with beautiful music, story, dance, humor and imagery. We promise that you'll come out of the Kavli Theatre surprised and happy. Join us next spring when Cabrillo Music Theatre introduces you to CHILDREN OF EDEN.

Now this amazing story "comes home" to live theatre, and to Cabrillo Music Theatre! This is not simply a children's show - it's a brand-new fully-developed musical that played on Broadway, in the spirit of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and THE LION KING, and Cabrillo Music Theatre's production will be the first in the area! Full of great music (including "Part of Your World," "Kiss The Girl," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and new songs written for the stage), dance, comedy, and romance, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID will take you to places no musical has ever gone before! Spend next summer "Under The Sea" with Cabrillo Music Theatre's all-new production of THE LITTLE MERMAID!
