ASU Gammage announced the 2009-2010 Broadway Across America - Arizona season. The seven show series includes the 2008 Tony® Award winner for Best Musical IN THE HEIGHTS, Best Play August: Osage County and the family hit Mary Poppins. The full series includes:

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL - September 22 - 27, 2009

It's here, and it's "AN ELLE OF A SHOW" (TIME Magazine). The hilarious MGM film is now a smash hit musical, and now LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL is coming to you. LEGALLY BLONDE follows sorority star Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde who doesn't take "no" for an answer. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. After turning Broadway and MTV hot pink, this "Feel-Good Song and Dance Juggernaut" (New York Magazine) is "The Best New Musical Around!" (WOR).

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE - December 8-13, 2009
Little House on the Prairie has remained one of the most popular and beloved celebrations of early Americana since the appearance of Laura Ingalls Wilder's popular classic book series 70 years ago. Now the inspirational stories take on a brand new frontier in an uplifting new musical. Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura for 10 years in the much loved television series, continues her legacy by starring as Ma. Families will continue to fall in love with these life affirming stories about the Ingalls' struggles and triumphs through the celebration of the pioneering spirit and the core values on which this country was founded - a spirit that resonates within each of us today. The show is directed by Francesca Zambello (Disney's The Little Mermaid), the music has been created by Academy Award® winner, Rachel Portman, and the book was written by Rachel Sheinkin (Tony® Award for SPELLING BEE) with lyrics by Donna di Novelli.

August: Osage County - January 5 -10, 2010
Steppenwolf's August: Osage County is a grand, gripping new play which tells the story of the Westons, a large extended clan that comes together at their rural Oklahoma homestead when the alcoholic patriarch disappears. Forced to confront unspoken truths and astonishing secrets, the family must also contend with matriarch Violet (played by Academy Award-winner Estelle Parsons), a pill-popping, deeply unsettled woman at the center of this storm. August: Osage County is a rare theatrical event - a large-scale work filled with unforgettable characters, a powerful tale told with unflinching honesty. Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony® Award for Best Play, August: Osage County is written by Tracy Letts and directed by Anna D. Shapiro.
