Internationally acclaimed actor Carmen Duncan has joined the forthcoming production of The Credeaux Canvas, opening at the Seymour Centre on 31 January 2015.

Carmen is one of Australia's most respected and recognised actors who has starred in numerous television shows, including guest roles on Winners & Losers and All Saints, and in the films Bootleg, Now and Forever, Strange Holiday, You Can't See 'Round Corners and Turkey Shoot. Carmen was nominated for an AFI Award for Best Actress in Harlequin. Carmen appears in Anything Goes for Opera Australia/GFO later this year, her first musical.

The producers of The Credeaux Canvas, Les Solomon and Bryce Hallett, are delighted that such a distinguished actor is stepping into the pivotal role of the art buyer Tess, who brings havoc in Keith Bunin's hit off-Broadway play.

Directed by Ross McGregor, the provocative new production features three of Australia's emerging theatre stars, James Wright, Emilie Cocquerel and Felix Johnson. Ross is thrilled that an actor of Carmen Duncan's standing will play the vibrant, larger-than-life character in the tragi-comedy about naked ambition, entitlement, desire and disillusionment.

The Credeaux Canvas, designed by Emma Vine with lighting by Liam O'Keefe, begins previews on 29 January at the Reginald Theatre, Seymour Centre.

Note -- The production contains nudity.
