The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to all arts and culture institutions in St. Petersburg through fundraising, leadership, and advocacy, have announced the recipients of the Inaugural MUSE Awards. The MUSE Award recipients are, according to the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, "inspiring representatives of our City of the Arts" and "exemplify the vibrant artistic culture in our community." A panel selected recipient Bob Devin Jones, actor, director, advocate, and co-founder of Studio@620. The second recipient, selected by online nomination and popular vote, is Becca McCoy, actor, singer, and arts advocate / volunteer. The recipients will be honored at the first-ever MUSE@MFA event, Friday, January 31st, at the Museum of Fine Arts. The award was designed and created by Jacob Stout and Mariel Bass of Duncan McClellan Glass.

Becca McCoy is a native of St. Petersburg, having graduated from St. Petersburg High School and Eckerd College. Ms. McCoy serves as a music volunteer at All Children's Hospital, and serves on the Board of Directors of Act One Arts Initiative, a St. Petersburg nonprofit dedicated to scholarships and exposure to the arts to children of limited financial means. She is a popular cabaret artist who has been seen at the Palladium Side Door and Morean Arts Center, and her album, A NOT SO SILENT NIGHT, was recorded locally in collaboration with St. Petersburg pianist James Weaver. Their single "Little One," a Baroque-inspired lullaby featuring local musician Rebecca Zapen on violin, is available for digital download and all proceeds are donated to All Children's Hospital. She is a member of Actors' Equity Association and locally, has appeared in productions at American Stage and freeFall Theatre, as well as MOTHERHOOD THE MUSICAL in the Jaeb Theatre at the Straz Center, and beginning Tuesday, January 28th, can be seen as Sleeping Beauty in the new musical DISENCHANTED! also in the Jaeb Theatre, running until April 13th.
