Gateway Center for Performing Arts' Youth Theatre Company will finish its 2014/2015 Season with AVENUE Q School Edition, performing at the Southhampton Presbyterian Church, 4716 Macklind Ave, July 31st - August 1st.

In this coming of age story, Princeton, a recent college grad with a BA in English, struggles to find his purpose. Told with both live actors and puppets, the style is a throwback to programs from childhood but addresses topics more relevant to young adults struggling to find jobs, find love, and find themselves. Adapted for teenagers, this hilarious, PG-13 musical shines a satirical and heartfelt light on what it means to enter adulthood.

"AVENUE Q School Edition's content has been edited so that it is appropriate for high school aged actors to perform, but it still retains its grit, humor and heart," says director Stephanie Fox. "Ultimately, this story focuses on a group of characters trying to figure out who they are and, in the process, finding purpose in coming together to help a friend. Though the show in its original form is rated R, the themes resonate with young actors, making the school version a perfect opportunity to explore those ideas in a safe space."

AVENUE Q School Edition stars Sean Harvey, Addison Steinkamp, Becket Clark, Abby Cockerham, Alaina Baumohl, Nathan Woodard, Jonathan Elkins, Rebecca Velasquez, Tegan Counihan Ratliff, Kelly Gleeson, Beth Snitzer, Jenna Librach, and Ana Hein
