Cabaret St. Louis proudly presents Linda Purl's cabaret show "Come Rain or Come Shine" for the opening of their Fall 2010 Season. Ms. Purl performs September 8-11, 2010 at 8 pm the Kranzberg Arts Center - 501 North Grand.
A star of stage, screen and cabaret,
Linda Purl has starred in over 40 made-for-TV movies, and she is especially known for her series roles of Charlene Matlock in Matlock and Ashley Pfister, Fonzie's fiancée, in
Happy Days, and most recently as ‘Pam's mother' in The Office. As a film actress, she has appeared in Disney's Mighty
Joe Young, The Walking Major and Leo and Loree, among others.
Ms. Purl appeared on Broadway in The Adventures of
Tom Sawyer and Getting and Spending, and Off-Broadway in The Baby Dance and Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Her extensive regional theater credits include six seasons at the
Williamstown Theatre Festival in the Berkshires,
The Actors Theatre of Louisville, the
Old Globe Theatre in San Diego,
Mark Taper Forum in Chicago,
South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, Santa Fe Opera,
Cleveland Playhouse and the Princess Grace Theatre in Monaco. She is also Festival Director of the California Inter
National Theatre Festival in Ventura (CA). Among her many honors, she has won six Drama-Logue Awards for Best Actress and two for Best Producer.
Ms. Purl tours nationally and internationally and her recordings include the solo albums Alone Together,
Linda Purl-Live, and Out of this World-Live with special guest
Desi Arnaz, Jr.
Born in Connecticut, Purl grew up in Japan, becoming the only foreigner to have trained at the Toho Geino Academy. Her studies continued at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Neighborhood Playhouse and
Lee Strasberg Institute.
