THE SOUND OF MUSIC is set to play the Sioux Empire Community Theatre beginning April 30th. Performances are scheduled for April 30th through May 2nd, May 7-9th and May 14-16th.

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant named Maria proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain and the entire Von Trapp family in one of the most thrilling and inspirational true life stories ever put on stage. This audience favorite includes such timeless hits as: My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, Edelweiss, the show-stopping Climb Ev'ry Mountain and of course the title song The Sound Of Music.

Tickets cost $20 and go on sale to the general public April 19. Box office hours at the Orpheum Theater box office are Monday-Saturday noon - 5 p.m. Purchase tickets in person at the box office, call 360-4800, or order online.

Subscribers and sponsors may begin reserving their seats April 12.
