Cebuano actors Yna Cajipe and Emman Casquejo reprise their roles, Jerusha and Jervis, respectively, in the mid-year repeat of the hit musical 'Daddy Long Legs,' directed by Cebu-renowned director Penny Ong.

The two-hander period musical 'Daddy Long Legs,' featuring the book by John Caird (Royal Shakespeare Company) and the music and lyrics by Paul Gordon ('Jane Eyre' on Broadway), will make its Cebu City premiere on February 3, 2023, at the Siddhartha Theater, Guang Ming Institute of Performing Arts. Directed by Penelop Ong (Vaudeville Theatre Company), the production will run until February 5.

Jane Austen’s engaging story of two resilient sisters comes to musical life on stage when  TheatreWorks Silicon Valley presents the Regional Premiere of Sense and Sensibility. This sensational work features book, music, and lyrics by Paul Gordon, whose Pride and Prejudice  broke box office records when it premiered at TheatreWorks in 2019, and was then streamed by more than 160,000 viewers worldwide at its virtual debut.

Last night, supporters of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley gathered to hear the 2019 Regional Theatre Tony Award-winning company and its Board of Trustees announce the launch of its 50th Anniversary Campaign, a $5 million fundraising campaign to ensure the future success of the nationally-acclaimed theatre, including commissions for new plays and musicals. 

He may have made his big mark with his arrival on Broadway in 2012 as Jesus in the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, but last night Paul Alexander Nolan's solo debut cabaret show at Feinstein's/54 Below will now make him a superstar in nightclubs and solo concerts. With a voice that thrills, and is capable of affectively singing all genres of music from Freddy Mercury, Billy Joel, McCartney/Lennon, Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein and even J. Fred Coots 1930's 'For All We Know ', and Eden Ahbez's Nature Boy, Paul Alexander Nolan had a sensational entrance into the world of Cabaret. He's a remarkable actor, musician (guitar) and singer who possesses a voice that can go anywhere over the musical spectrum in any octave and rhythm.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the lavish, large-cast comedy, "A Flea in Her Ear," newly adapted by David Ives from the original by Georges Feydeau, and directed by Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director.  Fresh from a sold-out run by Delaware's Resident Ensemble Players (REP), a professional theater located at the University of Delaware, the co-production with the REP will run in Westport July 10 - 28.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2016/2017 season with a musical saga of immigrant America, Rags. From the creators of Fiddler on the Roof and Wicked, this exhilarating musical follows the journey of Jewish immigrants Rebecca and her son David, who find themselves navigating the teeming, turn-of-the-century tenements of New York. A soaring, tuneful score (music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz) illuminates this sweeping saga (book by Joseph Stein) of dreams and disillusions, love lost and inspiration found, and the heart and soul of the American character. It was declared "A winner, warm and witty. You are tempted to rise cheering," by The Mercury News. Rags will be directed by TheatreWorks Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley, who notes "this production could not be timelier. As America debates immigration policies, what better time to present this deeper look at the newcomer's experience." Performances are April 5-30 (press opening: April 8) at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro Street, Mountain View. The Old Globe presents the West Coast premiere of Paul Gordon's delightfully romantic new musical SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, developed with Rick Boynton and presented in association withChicago Shakespeare Theater, where it was commissioned and had its world premiere in April 2015. CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines returns to the show as director of the Globe production. SENSE AND SENSIBILITY will play now through August 14, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Adam Halpin (Broadway's GLORY DAYS, RENT Natl. Tour) has just joined the cast of the new musical Daddy Long Legs, alongside his wife Megan McGinnis (Broadway's LES MISERABLES, SIDE SHOW, LITTLE WOMEN). Halpin, recently seen in another two-person musical THE LAST FIVE YEARS at Long Wharf Theatre, assumed the role on November 20th. The couple will appear together onstage through February 2016.
