Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

Martha Wash has lent her powerful voice to this year's Carols For A Cure album, recording with the cast of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert on the track, 'Light It Up!' The tune was written especially for this recording by Jason Michael Webb and Lelund Durond Thompson. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the recording session and brings you photo coverage below!

Beowulf Alley Theatre announces the opening play of their 2011-2012 season, Rough Crossing, by Tom Stoppard with select music by Andre Previn and directed by Dave Sewell. It's the late 1920s and the famous playwrighting team of Turai and Gal are onboard the cruise liner Italian Castle bound for New York.

Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters, continued his multi-evening 92nd Street Y conversation series, 'Broadway Talks,' with Tony Award-winning and Emmy Award-winning actor David Hyde Pierce yesterday, October 24. Roth and Pierce discussed his current role in La Bête, among other topics, at 92nd Street Y.
