Since the year 2000, Open Stage has produced A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens most famous novel, and arguably the most famous redemption story in all of literature.  It has consistently been the most produced adapted work in American theatre, and Open Stage celebrated the 20th anniversary production in December, 2019.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary with a ceremony held in the iconic Grand Hall of Battersea Arts Centre on Sunday 8 March 2020, the Off West End Awards once again celebrated the best of independent, fringe and alternative theatres across London.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas opened Sunday night November 17 to a packed house at Theatre at the Center in Munster.  The cast gave a thrilling performance for an audience that was teeming with the holiday spirit.  Theatre at the Center Artistic Director Linda Fortunato directed and choreographed the show.

Phil Daniels will lead the company in the titular role of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde at the King's Theatre Edinburgh, Tuesday 10 - Saturday 14 April 2018, in this new production, adapted by David Edgar and directed by Kate Saxon.

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 38th season of professional theater on Cape Ann with N. Richard Nash's moving American classic The Rainmaker from July 14 through August 5 at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Set in the time of a paralyzing drought in Depression-era America, The Rainmaker tells the story of a pivotal hot summer day in the life of spinsterish Lizzie Curry, whose father and two brothers are worried as much about her marriage prospects as they are about their dying cattle. Enter Starbuck, the consummate con man, who promises to solve all their problems, for a fee. Directed by Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Robert Walsh, The Rainmaker cast features Brian Homer as Starbuck; Jessica Bates as Lizzie Curry; David DeBeck as H.C. Curry, the patriarch of the Curry family; Joe Short and Sean McCoy as the Curry brothers; Dave Rich as File and longtime Gordon College Professor of Theater Arts Norm Jones as Sheriff Thomas. N. Richard Nash's most celebrated play, The Rainmaker, appeared in all three mediums; on Broadway in 1954, as a motion picture starring Katharine Hepburn in 1956, and as a television production in 1982. A musical version of The Rainmaker, entitled 110 Degrees in the Shade, debuted on Broadway in 1963.

This past Sunday, December 11th, Tony Roberts, legendary actor from Annie Hall, starred as Scrooge, in a performance of A Christmas Carol, to benefit The Nyack Center.  The rest of the cast of neighbors performing for neighbors included: Teddy Bass, Tiffany Card, Noah Morley, Tom Dudzick, Kevin Pariseau, Sean Fleming, Max Reinhardsen, Andrew Greenway, Elizabeth Scotson, Jan Hilliard, Eliza Simpson, Peter Kramer, Steve Taylor, Lorena Mann, Jen White and was narrated by Barry Carl. Live music, and underscoring, was provided by Martha Mooke (viola) and John Forster (keyboards)  Garth Kravits provided live Foley sound effects and Elliott Forrest (WNYC) directed the performance. A Christmas Carol, an audio play, is written by Arthur Yorinks, inspired by the Charles Dickens classic and was performed for the 21st Annual Music and Readings in a Holiday Spirit. 

Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre (CAMT) has created 'The New World Symphony: Dvorak in America,' a play chronicling the American years (1892-1895) of Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, during which he produced a flurry of 'American' works. GOH Productions and Dvorak-American Heritage Association (DAHA) will present the piece as a work in progress January 30 and 31, 2016 at Bohemian National Hall, 321 East 73rd Street (Upper East Side). This production is preparatory to the play's upcoming world premiere run, which will be presented by La Mama Experimental Theatre, 66 East 4th Street (East Village), six weeks later: from March 10 to 27, 2016 (see more info below). Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. South Coast Repertory will open its 2009-2010 season with a celebration of the music of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim and will shine the spotlight later in the season on the up-and-coming musical theater composer and lyricist, Adam Gwon. The season lineup includes World Premieres by Bathsheba Doran, Julie Marie Myatt and Howard Korder, and a West Coast Premiere by Noah Haidle.

At a special ceremony in the historic El Portal Theater in North Hollywood on Tuesday January 29, nine legendary leading ladies of American motion pictures, television and Broadway productions donated objects from their award-winning careers to the National Museum of American History.
