Tony Award nominee Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar), Drama Desk Award nominees Christina Bianco and Farah Alvin, Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera), Maxine Linehan, Jeremy Benton and the Broadway by the Year Chorus appeared at Town Hall's Broadway by the Year Series last night, May 22, for 'The Broadway Musicals of 1997-2007,' which highlighted the music of Stephen Schwartz, Jason Robert Brown, Adam Guettel, Elton John & Tim Rice, Stephen Sondheim, Frank Wildhorn and more. Arena Stage begins a new life in its renovated home at the Mead Center for American Theater in Southwest D.C., opening its inaugural season with a classic American musical that similarly embraces life on a new frontier. Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! is the first production at the Mead Center and features an all-star cast under the direction of Artistic Director Molly Smith. Drury Lane Theatre continues their acclaimed 'Year of the Director' by presenting a never-before-seen new version of the Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, directed by Bill Jenkins, Chair of Ball State University's Department of Theatre and Dance. Featuring an all-star cast led by Steve Blanchard as 'Adam' (who played 'The Beast' for eight years in Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, 'Pa Ingalls' in the National Tour of Little House on the Prairie, and 'Lancelot' in the National Tour of Camelot) and Abby Mueller as 'Milly' (who played 'Meg' in Marriott Theatre's Little Women and 'Constance' in Chicago Shakespeare's The Three Musketeers), SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS opens October 20 and runs through December 19 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, IL. This Off Broadway engagement will be performed at the Ohio Theatre, 66 Wooster Street (between Spring and Broome Streets). Previews begin on Wednesday, October 28, and the official Opening Night will be Monday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. Performances will run through November 21.

He recognizes Production Stage Manager and SD native Peter Van Dyke and the cast for their national efforts for equality - especially the Fundraising Benefit 'DEFYING INEQUALITY,' taking place at the BIRCH THEATRE Monday, August 24!

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) continues its 2008/2009 Season with the New York premiere of THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION, a new play by Evan Smith (Psych and The Uneasy Chair at Playwrights Horizons, Remedial English for the Young Playwrights Festival at Playwrights Horizons, Servicemen at The New Group). This will be Mr. Smith's fourth collaboration with the theater company. Directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago, New Jerusalem), in his Playwrights Horizons debut, the production will began previews on Friday, February 6, 2009 with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 3 at 7PM. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, March 15 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

With the sponsorship of Southwest Airlines, this amazing evening held at the Alex Theatre in Glendale CA and under the direction of Bruce Mayhall, brought festive song and dance that not only set the audiences feet to tapping and smiles to their lips, but also a tear or two to the eye as chorus members shared stories of Christmas' past.

THEATREWORKS/NYC is concluding its 2005-06 season with the revival of its hit musical SARAH, PLAIN AND TALL running March 19 - April 30, 2006 at its home at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, 121 Christopher Street.
