RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL entertained the crowd on Fran Drescher's New York Harbor cruise to kick off Gay Pride Week last Sunday, June 21st. A benefit for Cancer Schmancer, the floating party was held aboard the Hornblower Hybrid. Patti LuPone joined the festivities immediately following her matinee of SHOWS FOR DAYS along with other celebrity guests including Thomas Roberts, Patti Stanger, Jill Zarin, Peter Marc Jacobson, and Ann Hampton Callaway.

Broadway lovers (and haters) rejoice, because the funniest and bloodiest musical about what it takes to make a child a star is returning to Off-Broadway. RUTHLESS! is set to begin performances June 25th at St. Luke's Theatre in the heart of the Theater District, with the official Opening Night on Monday, July 13th. Book and lyrics are by Joel Paley and music by Marvin Laird. Joel Paley also directed the original production of RUTHLESS! as well as productions in L.A., South Beach and the record-breaking concert event starring Bernadette Peters. Artistic Associate Henry Wishcamper directs the classic 1939 play about wealth's corrupting power-one of Hellman's most notable works, which was adapted into a 1941 film starring Bette Davis-centering on the Hubbard family's ruthless pursuit in the South's post-bellum economic slump. Many will remember the 1966 Broadway play starring Lee Remick and Robert Duvall, or the 1967 film starting Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin, But seeing it in an intimate 99 seat theater brings spine-tingling chills galore.

Danny Whitman, BCEFA director of Communications & Development and Angelina Fiordellisi, Artistic Director of the Cherry Lane Theater were also joined Peter & Jamie. Laird and Paley are the creators of the hit musical 'Ruthless' which will be remounted as a benefit for Broadway Cares on September 5-22 at the Triad Theatre.

Meanwhile, Rachel (ELIZABETH MITCHELL) looks for a power source and a way back into the heart of her daughter Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos). Rachel also attempts to elude the grip of Randall Flynn (Colm Feore), her ruthless former boss and ally of Monroe (David Lyons). 'Ghosts' airs April 1 at 10:00 p.m. on NBC.
