When a modern Irish playwright meets a Russian classic - all hell breaks loose. On October 28, EgoPo presents the Philadelphia premiere of Theatre O and Enda Walsh's raucous revisioning of The Brothers Karamazov. Through an explosion of light, sound and puppetry, this theatrical outburst of toxic masculinity will grab audiences by the throat. Three brothers are locked in an eternal family struggle with their abusive patriarch culminating in an epic theological battle. Delirium previews October 26-27 and opens Today, October 28. Flute Theatre and English Touring Theatre's HAMLET to Transfer to Trafalgar Studios

Following performances across Europe, including Gdansk Shakespeare Festival; Mercury Theatre Colchester; Craiova International Festival; Park Theatre, London; four theatres in Spain; Neuss Globe Shakespeare Festival; and Kronborg Castle, Elsinore Hamletscenen, Flute Theatre and English Touring Theatre today announces that their production of Hamlet, adapted by Kelly Hunter, transfers to the Trafalgar Studios for a limited run this December.  As well as adapting, Hunter directs Mark Arends (Hamlet), Finlay Cormack (Laertes), David Fielder (Polonius/ Gravedigger), Tom Mannion (Claudius), Katy Stevens (Gertrude) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Ophelia). The production opens on 8 December, with previews from 6 December, and runs until 31 December. (more...)

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey rings in the holiday season with a timeless production of A Child's Christmas in Wales, based on the classic story by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and adapted for the stage by Jeremy Brooks and Adrian Mitchell. The festive show is being revived for the first time since it last appeared on the STNJ stage in 2003, featuring Greg Jackson in the role of Dylan Thomas. Performances begin November 30 and run through January 1 at the F.M. In this exhilarating look at the writer's plays, prose, poetry-and some soft-shoe rhythms-Irwin combines a series of Beckett passages with personal musings from a lifetime of exploring the writer's work.
