Announcing Lincoln Center's White Light Festival 2017

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced Lincoln Center's 2017 White Light Festival, which runs from October 18 through November 15. With more than 35 events presented in 13 venues throughout the city, including U.S. and New York premieres and nine commissions, the eighth annual international festival will explore Transcendence, interior illumination, and faith in the human spirit, as exhibited through artistic expression across continents and centuries. The multidisciplinary festival takes its name from a quotation by Estonian composer Arvo Part: "Icouldcomparemymusic to white light, which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener." (more...)

Ecce Ensemble Presents Music by Philippe Hurel and John Aylward

As the 2016-17 contemporary music ensemble-in-residence at Cambridge's Le Laboratoire, the Ecce Ensemble completes its French-inspired season with a diverse program juxtaposing American and French music. The concert features chamber performances of masterworks by French composer Philippe Hurel and by American composer John Aylward. The event is also a program of memorials, featuring two of Hurel's significant homage works, Pour Luigi and In Memoriam a Berio, and the world premiere of Aylward's Angelus Novus, an homage to Lee Hyla.  (more...)
