Friedman Theatre. Laura Linney (Time Stands Still, Sight Unseen) and Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole, Wit), will alternate playing the roles of Regina and Birdie, appearing opposite each other at every performance. Pulitzer-Winning Drama DISGRACED to Tour Universities, High Schools in China This Spring

The most produced play in America in 2015-16, Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer-winning drama Disgraced will tour universities and high schools in China under the direction of Timothy Douglas from April 3 to 30, produced by Ping Pong Productions with grants from the Henry Luce Foundation and the U.S. Embassy in China as well as major support from Chinese hosts and other local partners. The Globe is the first regional theatre in the country to mount the play, which was presented here as a reading in the 2014 Powers New Voices Festival before an acclaimed Off Broadway run. San Diego director Delicia Turner Sonnenberg makes her Globe debut to helm the award-winning drama, which is presented in association with San Diego's MOXIE Theatre, where Turner Sonnenberg is Founding Artistic Director. She sees a seemingly innocent little girl running around and playing with her mother Geraldine Page. When the film is over, she steps forward ever so slowly into the spotlight and addresses the audience fearlessly, 'My mother is haunting me.' At that precise moment, we sense we are in good hands.
