The Three Musketeers is a tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes and honor. The time is 1625 and d’Artagnan goes to Paris looking for adventure. When he reaches Paris he meets the famous musketeers, Athos, Porthos and Aramis. He soon joins them to defend the honor of the Queen of France. They fight against Cardinal Richelieu and the Countess de Winter to save the day. Presented at the Schwartz Center.

Nick Waring (The Three Musketeers, Hay Fever, The Trials of Oscar Wilde , Star Quality) plays the lead role of disillusioned English teacher, Peter Calder, and says it was the writing that drew him to the play. 'The Heart of Things has many beautiful and delicate shades of grey', he says and then, with a laugh, adds, 'but not 50. It's definitely got more than 50. The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the West Coast Premiere of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a new work by one of America's great comic playwrights, familiar to millions for Lend Me a Tenor and Crazy for You. Baskerville is directed by Josh Rhodes, who previously choreographed the Globe's productions of Bright Star and Working, as well as Broadway's It Shoulda Been You, First Date, and Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on July 24, with opening night on Thursday, July 30 at 8:00 p.m., in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. KANSAS CITY, MO (January 26, 2015) - The Kansas City Ballet today announced the 2015-2016 season. The 58th season will commence with the Kansas City Premiere of The Three Musketeers, choreography by Andre Prokovsky and music by Guiseppe Verdi, to be followed by the unveiling of Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney's all new production of The Nutcracker. Following the holiday classic, the winter program will feature the Kansas City Premiere of Swan Lake, choreography by Devon Carney, after Marius Petipa with the beloved music of Tchaikovsky. The 2015-16 season will finish with a joyful Spring Program featuring Kansas City Premieres of Adam Hougland's The Rite of Spring as well as new works by choreographers Helen Pickett, Viktor Plotnikov, and Yuri Possokhov. Ralph Watson, Nick Waring and Patience Tomlinson lead the cast of the The Heart of Things by Giles Cole, which premieres at Jermyn Street Theatre this Spring. Giles is joined by director Knight Mantell, to reform the team that created the hugely acclaimed The Art of Concealment about the life of Terence Rattigan, which was staged at the same theatre in 2012. With impeccable timing, as the 2015 election campaign goes into overdrive and the political parties are once again at each other's throats, Close Quarter Productions presents this poignant and gripping family drama set against the background of the 2010 general election. The production runs from March 10 to April 4 as part of the theatre's twenty-first anniversary year. (more...)

Known for his contemporary, abstract choreography, Wheeldon's recent projects ventured towards epic storytelling, as with Cinderella, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and The Winter's Tale.
