Fads come and go, and aesthetic poetry is all the rage in town these days, especially among the maidens who have all become groupies of the self-styled poet Reginald Bunthorne - to the dismay of their macho military boyfriends. All but Patience, the virtuous village milkmaid who claims to have never loved anyone. She doesn't care for poetry much either, and, as it turns out, neither does Bunthorne! And while Bunthorne is infatuated with Patience, she falls for her childhood crush Archibald Grosvenor, another famous aesthete who attracts women even faster than Bunthorne. The rigid military men attempt to win back their ladies by comically attempting to be willowy poets, but, when exasperated Bunthorne challenges Grosvenor to give up the current aesthetic craze, he does so willingly - and everything backfires. Being common becomes the new celebrity, and all the ladies choose their old sweethearts, including Patience - proving after all, that every generation has its own temporary insanity!

BWW Review: PATIENCE & SARAH Shines Light on Women in Love in 19th-Century New England
by Richard Sasanow - Jun 28, 2016

Patience & SARAH—at least in the production of this chamber opera seen this past week at the Players Theatre in Greenwich Village, as part of the New York Opera Fest and 18 years after its premiere at Lincoln Center Festival—is a beautiful but somewhat lopsided affair. While it tells of the love shared by the women of the title, despite the objections and confusion of their families—Patience is educated, wealthy and a painter, Sarah's a poor, illiterate farmer--it seems really to be the story of Sarah. BWW Review: A.D. Players' LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL Is the Theatrical Equivalent to Curling Up With a Good Book
by Natalie de la Garza - Jun 24, 2016

LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL is quite the curiosity -- a musical that isn't particularly enhanced or defined by its music. But though the music may be mostly forgettable, the voices in the A.D. Players' production are not. Neither are the performances. It is the cast that ultimately elevates this admittedly simplistic but feel-good show to one of the must-sees of the summer. (more...)

Lyon Book & Social Media Promotions is pleased to announce Author, Roger Stark and Co-author, Irwin Morse are now featured on the popular book site Lyon Book & Social Media Promotions - joining the ranks of many fine authors we represent and promote. As featured recovery writers, we are honored to showcase their books here on Lyon Book Promotions. Also, at Lyon Promotions, book fans can browse and search all our authors and their new releases, read book reviews, and learn more about new authors from our 'Author Spotlights.' Stark of Washington State and Morse of Texas are currently promoting 'Reclaiming Your Addicted Brain.' An exceptional recovery 'how to guide' for friends and family who are baffled by the behaviors, antics, and thinking of the addicted one. Their Patience, tolerance, and love are depleted quickly. Eventually, their empathy and compassion exhausted, they say the inevitable, 'He will just have to hit bottom,' as they shake their heads and walk away. The new book 'Reclaiming Your Addicted Brain' maps the return journey from addict land for the addict. Teaching the 'how' of leaving thinking errors behind. Written around the recovery story of one man from alcohol and sex addiction, clinical notes, and comments appear throughout the story helping the reader to understand this baffling disease. Addicts are able to see what they themselves do when hearing others' testimony. Reading George's (the book's addicted character) story and misadventures creates 'aha' moments of understanding that can open the eyes of addicts and the doors to recovery. Hearing other addicts stories can be a powerful tool in one's recovery and make an addict feel less alone and more willing to receive help. Like many popular authors, Stark and Morse are making use of the exceptional promoting services for writers to market their books. Launched in May 2013, Author, Catherine Townsend-Lyon of Lyon Book Promotions has rapidly become a leading source to help new authors learn how to promote and market their books. (more...)
