TERROR IN AUSTRALIA Book is Now AvailableTERROR IN AUSTRALIA Book is Now Available
by BWW News Desk - Nov 13, 2015

John Stapleton's 'Terror in Australia' is a beautifully written snapshot of a pivotal turning point in the history of the so-called Lucky Country. In 2015 there were well attended Reclaim Australia demonstrations in every major capital city, all protesting what the demonstrators saw as the growing Islami?z?ation of Australia, along with countering anti-racism demonstrations. There were frequent violent clashes, hundreds of police were forced to form lines separating the demonstrators in Sydney and Melbourne, there were a significant number of arrests and injuries, and dozens of people were treated for the effects of capsicum spray. The terror alert was at its highest level in history, the country was engaged in an unpopular and discredited war in Iraq and Syria, and relations between the government and an increasingly radicali?z?ed Muslim minority had broken down. BWW Reviews: 2nd Story Offers Very ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANBWW Reviews: 2nd Story Offers Very ENTERTAINING MR. SLOAN
by Larry O'Brien - May 14, 2015

ENTERTAING MR. SLOAN by Joe Orton, the latest entry in the grim comedy sweepstakes currently going on at 2nd Story Theater in Warren, is a funny plays made with gruesome ingredients. When the audience takes its seat, it is greeted by Trevor Elliot's set--a simple, orderly middle class living room, which suggests nothing of the chaos soon to take place. Like the characters Orton created in 1964, the set is not what it first appears to be: what the audience cannot see is that the orderly living room is in a house at the edge of a dump. (more...)

BWW Reviews: THE WARS OF HEAVEN Is an Intriguing Miltonic EpicBWW Reviews: THE WARS OF HEAVEN Is an Intriguing Miltonic Epic
by Frank Benge - May 14, 2015

Part I of Trouble Puppet's THE WARS OF HEAVEN, is the first part of an epic three-part saga. The story, created by the company under Artistic Director, Connor Hopkins, is told through tabletop and shadow puppetry. Parts II and III are to come in 2016 and 2017.  At the core of the story is the concept that angels and demons are among us, serving God and Lucifer, fighting in our wars to uphold an ancient order. The work examines what happens when some of them begin to doubt the rules. The piece is strongly influenced by Milton's "Paradise Lost", an epic telling of Satan's rebellion against heaven.
