Temple Theaters to Present Peter Weiss's Masterpiece MARAT/SADE

Temple Theaters presents The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade, commonly called Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss. Directed by Donna Snow, this twentieth-century masterpiece is a deep examination of human suffering and class struggle that still resonates today. With twenty-three graduate and undergraduate actors and a score of lively music, the drama will run November 9 - 19 in Temple University's intimate Randall Theater. (more...)

The Shakespeare Theatre Presents Holiday A Holiday Classic For Its 2016 Season Finale

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey rings in the holiday season with a timeless production of A Child's Christmas in Wales, based on the classic story by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and adapted for the stage by Jeremy Brooks and Adrian Mitchell. The festive show is being revived for the first time since it last appeared on the STNJ stage in 2003, featuring Greg Jackson in the role of Dylan Thomas. Performances begin November 30 and run through January 1 at the F.M. New Jersey Symphony Presents HANDEL'S MESSIAH, 12/16

Members of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra perform Handel's Messiah with the Montclair State University Singers and a quartet of vocal soloists December 16 and 18 in Princeton and Newark, respectively. George Manahan, the NJSO's interim Music Director from 1983–85, returns to conduct Handel's masterwork—a Christmastime tradition in concert halls across the world. Soprano Patricia Schuman, mezzo-soprano Mary Phillips, tenor Ryan MacPherson and bass-baritone David Pittsinger join the Orchestra and choir. (more...)
