Concert tribute based on events in the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Chock full of uncanny impersonations and behind the scenes stories from Kevin Pollak's long-standing film career, THE LITTLEST SUSPECT is a one-hour stand-up special from the comedian best known for his award-winning work as an actor in over 60 films (A Few Good Men, Casino, The Usual Suspects). In the special Pollak channels such iconic celebrities as Christopher Walken, Jack Nicholson, Larry King, William Shatner, Alan Arkin, Peter Falk and Paul Riser. Pollak recalls his numerous practical jokes over the years, particularly at the expense of such celebrity friends as Arkin & Walken.
On Monday, August 2, the 28th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series at Wingate Field, hosted by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, will feature a tribute to old school hip-hop, including Salt-N-Pepa, Naughty By Nature and Slick Rick.
On Thursday, July 22, the 32nd annual Seaside Summer Concert Series at Asser Levy/Seaside Park, hosted by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, will feature the 'Happy Together Tour,' including the Beach Boys, the Turtles (featuring Flo & Eddie), Mickey Dolenz (the Monkees) and Mark Lindsay (Paul Revere and the Raiders). The Seaside Summer Concert Series at Coney Island and Martin Luther King, Jr. Concert Series in Crown Heights/Central Brooklyn have entertained hundreds of thousands of residents over the past three decades and remain the largest free concert series in the New York metropolitan area.

Th U.K.'s Screen Daily is reporting that Al Pacino will portray King Lear in a new film adaptation directed by Michael Radford. The two have previously collaborated on the film version of The Merchant of Venice (Pacino will deliver a second rendition of his Shylock live in Merchant for Shakespeare in the Park this summer). The film will begin filming in the U.K. in 2011.

The need for a performing arts center in Brevard County had been apparent for many years. CHESS opened at the Signature Theatre on August 10 and will run through September 26. Chess is being performed in the fabulous intimacy of the 276-seat MAX Theatre.
