The Kitchen presents a collaboration with The Racial Imaginary Institute (TRII) that expands upon the Institute's first year of research on Whiteness, what Claudia Rankine has described as  "a source of unquestioned power [that], as a 'bloc,' feels itself to be endangered even as it retains its hold on power."

Today, The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Most have announced that Lisa Wong has been named Director of Choruses for The Cleveland Orchestra, effective immediately. The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus is one of the few professionally trained, all-volunteer choruses sponsored by a major American orchestra. Its members hail from nearly fifty Cleveland-area communities and together contribute more than 15,000 volunteer hours to the Orchestra's music-making each year. Wong will hold the Frances P. and Chester C. Bolton Director of Choruses Endowed Chair.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) for their 20th annual performance run on Mother's Day Weekend from May 11-13. The three-show celebration is the culmination of the Company's 21-city North American tour. 5-STAR THEATRICALS (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) continues its 2017-2018 season with the Thousand Oaks premiere of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Peter Parnell (based on the Victor Hugo Novel and songs from the Disney film), musical direction by Dan Redfeld, choreography by Michelle Elkin and directed by Misti B. Los Angeles Children's Chorus (LACC), renowned for its exquisite bel canto sound, presents a sweeping program for its Spring Concert, entitled "And This Shall Be For Beauty," led by Artistic Director Anne Tomlinson and featuring two world premieres -  Laughing Song by noted Icelandic composer Daniel Bjarnason and I am I am I am by rising Norwegian composer Therese Ulvo - and a musical celebration of Leonard Bernstein's centennial on Saturday, May 12, 7 pm, and Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13, 2018, 7 pm, at Pasadena Presbyterian Church.  Additionally, the Chorus performs works by by Esa-Pekka Salonen, Grieg, Faure, Hilary Tann, Gwenyth Walker and Ola Gjeilo, among others. 

According to Variety, key member of Fleetwood Mac Lindsey Buckingham has left the group. She has been with the band from 1975 to 1987, took a hiatus for the following ten years, and then rejoined in 1997. Read about her departure from the band from Variety here!

The centennial of renowned American composer Leonard Bernstein is celebrated throughout the National Philharmonic's 2018-2019 concert series at The Music Center at Strathmore. The Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College (MOAD MDC) announces The Maggic Banquet, a multifaceted participatory project centered on food by internationally-celebrated, Miami-based artist Miralda. The Maggic Banquet will explore the variety and unity of Miami through a wide range of local cuisines, from 2 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at EXILE Books in Little Haiti. This event is free and open to the public.

MusicWorks is continuing its classic folk-rock series next month with three must-see/must-hear concerts at Old School Square's Crest Theatre, located at 51 N. Swinton Avenue in Delray Beach.

The Pacific Standard Time Festival: Live Art LA/LA, a celebration of performance art presented as part of the Getty-led initiative Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, will run from January 11 through 21, 2018. Organized by REDCAT, CalArts' Center for Contemporary Arts, in collaboration with partner organizations throughout the city, the 11-day festival will feature more than 75 works by Latin American and Latino artists, performed at more than 20 indoor and outdoor spaces throughout greater Los Angeles. Supported by a major grant from the Getty Foundation, events will range from large-scale, site-specific performances to multi-artist evenings and will be presented in parks, plazas, galleries, theaters, and busy urban settings.

MusicWorks today announced that it would be presenting 11 classic folk and rock concerts in Palm Beach County during the first four months of 2018.

Famed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater marks its annual Kennedy Center engagement, February 6 11, with seven magnetic performances on the Opera House stage. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, the company's performances include two D.C. debuts, three new productions, and a total of 10 works by a range of diverse choreographers. Alvin Ailey's American masterpiece Revelations will be performed as the finale for all seven programs.
