Now, Disney Theatrical Productions has confirmed that Aladdin, a new musical based on the Academy Award winning animated film, will play its pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre(formerly the Canon) November 13, 2013 to January 12, 2014 and will open at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014. The show will feature music by Alan Menken; lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin with a book by Beguelin. Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph.

PASSION is slated to begin performances on February 8, 2013 at CSC (136 East 13th Street), with an official press opening scheduled for Thursday, February 28, playing a limited engagement through Sunday, April 7. Accompanied by the WNO Orchestra under the baton of Tony Award winner Ted Sperling, Gunn will perform selections from operas by Mozart, Rossini, and Bizet, plus songs by Sondheim and other Broadway composers. American tenor William Burden will join him for a few duets. All three artists will make their WNO debuts with this performance.

Producers Julian Schlossberg and Letty Aronson have just announced that five time Tony Award® winner Susan Stroman will direct and choreograph the world premiere production of BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, the new musical adaptation of Woody Allen's and Douglas McGrath's screenplay of the 1994 crime-comedy film when it arrives home on Broadway in the 2013 - 2014 season.

Today, the still Broadway-bound production has released an official statement noting that "The PRINCE OF BROADWAY company and creative team has been informed that production on the show will continue without Dancap's involvement. Further details will follow shortly."

P. Brendan Mulvey, who has appeared in The Media Theatre's Titanic and Show Boat, will be given the Walter M. Strine Award at the theatre's annual Gala on Saturday evening, February 25. The annual award, named after the entrepreneur who revitalized the theatre in 1994 so that a professional music theatre would be a cornerstone of Media borough, will be given to Mulvey prior to the celebratory evening's concert by legendary Tony nominee Andrea McArdle. The honor is given to an individual who keeps the spirit of Mr. Strine alive with their consistent support and advocacy of The Media Theatre.
