La Compañía Nacional de Teatro del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL) estrena la obra La Celestina del escritor español Fernando de Rojas, con adaptación e idea original de Rosenda Monteros y dirección de Ruby Tagle, que estará en temporada del 9 de mayo al 2 de junio de 2019 en la Sala Héctor Mendoza. La puesta en escena, que empezó a ensayar en 2018 la actriz, directora y productora, fallecida el pasado diciembre a los 83 años, se torna hoy en homenaje a esta férrea impulsora del teatro del Siglo de Oro, que trabajó toda su vida a favor de la luz de la palabra y el universo poético.

On Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m., Nicola and Beatrice Bulgari and the Carnegie Hall Notables-a membership and ticket program for music enthusiasts in their 20s and 30s-will host the 15th Annual Notable Occasion. This private performance in Zankel Hall for Carnegie Hall Notables and special guests features Carnegie Hall Perspectives artist pianist Yuja Wang in recital with Andreas Ottensamer, principal clarinetist of the legendary Berliner Philharmoniker. Festival Ballet Providence (FBP) festivalballetprovidence.org is excited to announce Up Close on Hope, Program 1, an evening  featuring choreographic premieres in FBP's state-of-the-art Black Box Theatre at 825 Hope Street in Providence.  This unique series, presented in the Fall and the Spring, provides a thrilling experience in a profoundly intimate space, placing dancers within feet of the audience as they perform original works of emerging and established choreographers. The program will take place on the consecutive weekends of November 9 - 11 and November 16-17, 2018, with rotating casts of dancers making for a different debut performance each night.

Israeli-American cellist Amit Peled announces the release of his latest album, Bach Suites Volume 1, on February 1, 2019on CTM Classics. Recorded on the superb 1733 Goffriller cello formerly owned by Pablo Casals, the album features the first three suites and marks the first time that Bach's Suites have been recorded on the instrument since Casals' own path-breaking venture in 1936.

A more revealing, soul-searching expression of the life of Astor Piazzolla-the father of Nuevo Tango-is at the heart of a revamped production of "That's Not Tango - Astor Piazzolla, A Life In Music," returning for an extended run at New York's SubCulture on June 8, 9 & 10th and for multiple performances in July. The director is Stephen Wadsworth, named one of the most influential stage directors of the 21st century by American Theatre.

The Utah Symphony today announced the lineup for the 2018 summer community concert series in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, several of which feature outdoor venues. The schedule includes Gina Bachauer Piano Competition Finals on June 22 and 23 at 7 PM at Abravanel Hall, Gallivan Center on Monday June 25, Disney in Concert: "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" on June 27 and 28 at Abravanel Hall, the Utah Symphony at Snowbasin Resort on June 29 and August 7, the Utah Symphony at Thanksgiving Point on July 2, the Utah Symphony at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center on July 3, and Jenny Oaks Baker with the Utah Symphony on August 1 at Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre. Ticketing information is posted with each concert. No tickets are required for the Gallivan Center and Utah Cultural Celebration Center performances, which are free to the public. Peak Performances presents the U.S. premiere of Esta Breve Tragedia de la Carne (This Brief Tragedy of the Flesh), Spanish writer, director, and performance artist Angelica Liddell's encapsulation of Emily Dickenson's morbidly beautiful understanding of the human condition. Liddell's confrontational work has been embraced with standing ovations at a number of festivals (d'Avignon and d'Automne in France, Vie in Italy, and Theatre Vidy-Lausanne in Switzerland), and met with the type of critical enthusiasm reserved for rising legends.
