When kind, sweet orphan Oliver flees the tyrannical care of a series of ruthless masters, he finds himself pulled into a life of crime by Fagin and his army of young pickpockets. He is only offered rescue by the kindly Mr. Brownlow, whose charity and forgiving nature offer stark contrast to the murderous Bill Sykes, a cold-hearted kidnapper who is hunting Oliver down!

Omid Djalili will replace Rowan Atkinson as Fagin in Cameron Mackintosh's OLIVER! The Iranian comedian will take over starting July 20, 2009, joining the rest of the original cast. He is scheduled to continue in the part until December 12, 2009.
