Juneteenth Legacy Theatre presents August Wilson's Women At The Nuyorican Poets Café

Tony Award-winner Leslie Uggams (Hallelujah, Baby!) opened her exclusive three-week engagement - her first New York cabaret appearance in 18 years - at the Cafe Carlyle last night, March 30. 'Leslie Uggams: Uptown Downtown' will play through Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the famed night spot. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the opening night celebration, as were friends Celisse Henderson, Capathia Jenkins, Chuck Cooper, Tommy Tune, Karen Akers and more.

'Leslie Uggams: Uptown Downtown' will begin performances on Tuesday, March 30 and play through Saturday, April 17, 2010.

As we celebrate Christmas and await the New Year, here's a new audio interpretation of 'The Gift of the Magi' by O. Henry, written and recorded by local DC actors and designers who make up The Audible Group. It is Christmas Eve, 1935. In a small apartment in the H Street NE neighborhood of Washington, DC where James and Della Young, a young couple who, though rich in love, but down to their last pennies, still manage to give each other the perfect gift. It will fill you - from head to mistletoe - with the holiday spirit. Listen here

This is an uplifting and affirming celebration that features a terrific and talented ensemble.

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre's second production of the season is 'Man of La Mancha,' presented in association with Michael James. Opening night is 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18 at the No Exit Café, 6970 Glenwood Ave. in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.

Old Globe Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of Sammy, a new musical based on the life of Sammy Davis, Jr. with book, music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, and additional songs by Bricusse and Anthony Newley. Directed by Keith Glover with choreography by Keith Young and music supervision by Ian Fraser, Sammy will run in the Old Globe Theatre Sept. 19 - Nov. 8. Previews run from Sept. 19 - Oct. 1. Opening night is Oct. 2 at 8:00 p.m.
