A big…bright…bold dance musical. It’s the ultimate backstage showbiz fairy tale when a stage struck understudy becomes an overnight star. Filled with a hit parade of songs like “Lullaby of Broadway,” “We’re in the Money,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and of course, “42nd Street,” it will leave you tapping your toes, with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. This Tony Award winner for Best Musical is a song and dance extravaganza.

Tony Winning Costume Designer Theoni V. Aldredge Dies

Theoni V. Aldredge, the costume designer of the original stage version of 'La Cage aux Folles' and 'Annie' on Broadway, died Friday morning in Connecticut, according to the New York Times. She was 88.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Patrick Cassidy is at work on a new piece about his father, the late musical actor Jack Cassidy, who died in an accidental fire at the age of 49. The younger Cassidy is developing a one-man show about Jack, with the help of some of Jack's old friends, including Hal Prince and John McMartin.

The Sacramento Music Circus production of Monty Python's 'Spamalot,' opening at the Wells Fargo Pavilion on July 9, will mark a few firsts. It will be the first time a regional theatre has been given the rights to produce the Tony Award-winning best musical. It will also be the first time the musical has been produced in the round. And significantly for the region's largest arts organization, it will be the first time in its history that California Musical Theatre has hosted a regional theatre premiere. But among the firsts, there is another milestone. 'Spamalot' will be the 500th opening night for Music Circus at the corner of 15th and H Streets.
