Philadelphia Theatre Company officially opened THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS last night, January 25, 2012, running through February 19 at PTC's home in the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. Previews began January 20, 2012. This is the first regional production of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS since its run on Broadway last season.

The fabulous Lypsinka, Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming (CABARET, 'The Good Wife'), and Tony nominees Alison Fraser (SECRET GARDEN, ROMANCE/ROMANCE) and Andrew Rannells (BOOK OF MORMON) all made appearances at Abingdon Theatre Company's 19th Annual Benefit Gala yesterday, October 24 at Espace, honoring Charles Busch, Julie Halston and Timothy P. Speiss. Beth Leavel, a Tony winner for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE emceed the gala. Carl Andress, who helmed Busch's THE DIVINE SISTER, THE THIRD STORY, DIE MOMMIE DIE! and SHANGHAI MOON, directed.

Signature Theatre Company announced yesterday seven productions for its inaugural 2012 season at Signature Center, the company's new Frank Gehry-designed permanent home opening in February 2012. Signature Center will allow the Company to expand its programming, introduce new initiatives, and build audiences. Featuring three intimate theatres, a Studio Theatre, rehearsal studio and a shared lobby with café and bookstore, Signature Center will be both a theatre community hub and a neighborhood destination.
