The Grand Theatre is thrilled to announce a first-time collaboration with the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), bringing A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS to the Spriet Stage. This acclaimed stage adaptation, based on the award-winning novel by Khaled Hosseini, had its world premiere in San Francisco in July 2016 and became the bestselling production in A.C.T.'s history. The Grand's production will premiere an all new, all Canadian cast with original staging by A.C.T. Artistic Director Carey Perloff. Huntington Theatre Company, Boston's leading independent theatre, announces its 2018-2019 season, featuring two of the most highly acclaimed Broadway plays of the last year, Shakespeare's enduring love story, a theatrical caper with Sherlock Holmes, and three of the most compelling new plays in the country, all with rich and relevant stories that speak to the times we live in.

There's a captivating line up for March and April at the Fugard Bioscope, including dance, drama and opera. The Bioscope presents screenings of the world's best recorded live theatre, opera and ballet productions to be enjoyed from the comfort of a Fugard Theatre seat and on the Fugard's full size high definition cinema screen with a 7.1 dolby digital surround sound system.

New casting announced for the new National Theatre season. Full cast has been announced for Brian Friel's Translations including Colin Morgan and Ciaran Hinds, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Eric Kofi Abrefa and Thalissa Teixeira join Vanessa Kirby in the cast of Julie, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.

For the second performance in their new space, THE READY, Red Tape Theatre proudly presents Bertolt Brecht's ROUND HEADS AND POINTED HEADS. Described as "a tale of horror" by Brecht himself, the play is a satirical parable about the fictitious country of Yahoo, where the rulers maintain control by setting people with round heads against those with pointed heads. As the flames of a race war between round and pointed heads brews, the people of Yahoo are distracted from the reality of their poverty and the oppressive forces caused by class stratification. The show is directed by Artistic Director and Jeff Nominated director Max Truax and will feature original music from two-time Jeff Award Winning composer Nicholas Tonozzi, their third collaboration after the highly successful THE MOTHER (Oracle Theatre) and last year's YERMA, co-produced with Theatre Y.'

Originally seen as a staged reading as part of Vibrant 2017 - A Festival of Finborough Playwrights, the world premiere of Checkpoint Chana by Jeff Page starring Geraldine Somerville runs at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 4 March 2018 (Press Night: Monday, 5 March 2018 at 7.30pm).

Kicking off the Park Avenue Armory's 2018 Season, director and playwright Simon Stone brings his heart-wrenching, Olivier Award-wining reinterpretation of Federico Garc a Lorca's 1934 play Yerma to the Wade Thompson Drill Hall. The production stars actress Billie Piper who will reprise the role for which she won the 2017 Olivier Award and the Natasha Richardson Award for Best Actress at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in 2016.

Urban Theatre Movement is the first Los Angeles theatre company recipient of Greenway Arts Alliance's Greenway Residency Program, created in celebration of GAA's 20th Anniversary Celebration. YERMA IN THE DESERT will open to the press at Greenway Court Theatre (544 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles) on Friday, November 17 and play through December 16, 2017.

Shakespeare & Company has announced its Shakespeare lineup for the 2018 summer season. Under the direction of Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Managing Director Adam Davis, the season will include three Shakespeare plays: Macbeth directed by Melia Bensussen, As You Like It directed by Allyn Burrows, and Love's Labor's Lost directed by Kelly Galvin. National Theatre Live broadcasts return to the McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage, as part of the MAC's 2017-2018 Season.

Greenway Arts Alliance (GAA), under the direction of Co-Founders Whitney Weston and Pierson Blaetz, kick-off their 20th Anniversary celebration with a musical tribute brunch honoring Greenway community partners and Market Mash, a pop-up festival for Melrose Trading Post shoppers and visitors. The events will be held at Melrose Trading Post, on the campus of Fairfax High School on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

Theatre Y announces a new artistic home at 4546 N. Western Ave. and a new artistic partnership with Red Tape Theatre. The new 3,300-square feet space offers a flexible black box performance area with an audience capacity of up to 75 seats, a spacious lobby, and rehearsal space for the two companies to utilize.
