The Michael Ann Russel Jewish Community Center (MAR-JCC) presents its first installment of the Yiddishkayt Entertainment Series: A Forum for the Celebration of Jewish Culture and Education with The Renaissance of Yiddishkayt and Jewish Culture. World renowned Jewish Cultural entertainers Jake Ehrenreich, Eleanor Reissa and Avi Hoffman will lead the discussion of Yiddishkayt and Jewish Culture.

Daryl Roth, Elizabeth Ireland McCann and Cody Lassen, the producers of Indecent -- the newest work by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE) -- have announced that the entire original Off-Broadway ensemble will travel to Broadway when the production begins previews at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues), on April 4, prior to its official opening night on April 18.

INDECENT - Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's newest work, one of the most acclaimed plays of 2016 when it debuted in New York Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre - will premiere on Broadway at the Cort Theatre (138 W 48th St New York, NY), this spring, with previews set to begin early April prior to opening April 18, it has been announced by producers Daryl Roth, Elizabeth Ireland McCann and Cody Lassen, who will present the Vineyard Theatre production in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre. Theatre production and advocacy company, Parity Productions, has released its monthly list of Qualifying Productions - their list of New York City shows in which the individual creative teams include 50% women and transgender artists (directors, designers and playwrights).

Today's big news: New Yiddish Rep's GOD OF VENGEANCE, the inspiration for Broadway's upcoming INDECENT, begins tonight at La MaMa, and GMA celebrates Andrew Lloyd Webber this morning!

The performance schedule has been changed for 'Light Up The Night,' a theatrical concert of rediscovered and restored Yiddish theater songs by Ellstein, Goldfaden, Olshanetsky, Rumshinsky, and Secunda, to be presented by National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) January 1 in Edmond J. Safra Hall at Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, Manhattan.  Originally two shows were planned, at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.  The 2:00 PM performance continues as scheduled but the 6:00 PM performance has been canceled.

The Bat Yam Festival of Musicals will begin on December 11 and will nationally premiere three original musicals which were created especially for the singular festival, founded by Uri Paster which is also the artistic manager of it. This year's festival theme: 'Exile Judaism - East and West'. The first place winning musical will celebrate its win with two performances which will take place on December 21st at The Cameri Theatre of Tel Aviv.

The World Premiere of Merciful Father will run through November 12 with performances Tuesday through Saturday at 8pm. Merciful Father is a provocative new take on Sholem Asch's scandalous Yiddish play God of Vengeance.

Atar Hadari's penetrating new play, Merciful Father will open UP Theater's seventh season. The World Premiere of Merciful Father will runNovember 1st through November 12th in Northern Manhattan. The play is based on Sholem Asch's scandalous Yiddish play God of Vengeance which was the inspiration for Paula Vogel's new play, Indecent which premiered at the Vineyard Theatre last season. God of Vengeance premiered on Broadway at the Apollo Theatre in 1923 and featured Broadway's first lesbian kiss. The play was so far ahead of its time, the actors and producers were indicted for giving an immoral performance. Atar Hadari's, Merciful Father is a proactive new take on the story. The production is directed by UP's Artistic Director, James Bosley who has premiered three of his play with UP, including the critically acclaimed productions of Broad Channel, and Epic Poetry.

Fresh on the heels of the raucous comedy, Hand to God, City Theatre turns in a different direction to present Feeding the Dragon, an intimate and magical world premiere by the award-winning stage and screen actress, Sharon Washington. The production marks Washington's playwriting debut. Feeding the Dragon runs October 22 through November 20, 2016 in the Lester Hamburg Studio at City Theatre, directed byMaria Mileaf.

Geffen Playhouse announces the cast for its production of The Model Apartment written by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies.

The Pulitzer Prize winner and much lauded playwright Donald Margulies' currently back in Los Angeles for his revival of his 1988 Obie Award-winning THE MODEL APARTMENT. His foray into writing for film The End of the Tour made him a festival darling with nominations for Film Independent Spirit and UCLA Scripter Awards.

Museum of the Moving Image will present the most comprehensive U.S. retrospective of all of the Polish director's features, short films, early documentary work, and a marathon viewing of the Dekalog, from October 7 through November 6, 2016. The series will also include four posthumous works based on Kieslowski's unproduced screenplays.
