The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County presents City Theatre's 17th annual SUMMER SHORTS FESTIVAL, South Florida's fast and furiously fun program of the nation's hottest short plays, staged in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House) from June 1-17, 2012. Under the new direction of Producing Artistic Director John Manzelli, the sizzling 17th season of the company's acclaimed SUMMER SHORTS FESTIVAL features fifteen performances of ten original short plays - some raucous, others innovative and poignant, but with the ultimate goal to make audiences laugh.
Rep Stage Closes 19th Season with LAS MENINAS, 4/18-5/6

Rep Stage, the professional Equity theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), concludes its 19th season with "Las Meninas," playwright Lynn Nottage's account of the seduction of Louis the XIV's queen, Marie-Therese, and the consequences of her scandalous relationship with Nabo, her African servant. Nottage weaves an imaginative tale based on a fascinating but forgotten time in history that examines truths about women and race. Eve Muson, who helmed last season's "Speech & Debate," directs a large cast in this rarely produced play. "Las Meninas" opens April 18 with a limited run through May 6, 2012, in the Studio Theatre of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA) on the campus of HCC.

Casting has been announced for Alan Plater's CLOSE THE COALHOUSE DOOR, which is being revived by Northern Stage and Live Theatre in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Directed by Samuel West, with additional material by Lee Hall, the production will open at Northern Stage on Wednesday 18 April, with previews from Friday 13 April and will then tour the UK until June 2012.
TWELFTH NIGHT Plays in LA, 4/21; Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival Comes to Thousand Oaks, June-Aug

The Shakespeare Educational Tour adapted version of "Twelfth Night" will be presented this coming Saturday, April 21 at 11 am at the Geffen Playhouse Gil Cates Theatre in Los Angeles, 10886 Le Conte Ave. The show is geared toward an elementary school audience and has been presented to 16 elementary schools in Ventura County this spring. The 16th season of the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival will feature performances of "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Romeo and Juliet" at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks beginning in June.
Finborough Theatre Announces Cast for ALL GOOD MEN, April 29-May 14

The Finborough Theatre presents the first UK production in nearly 40 years of Trevor Griffiths' All Good Men, last seen at the Young Vic in a production by the National Theatre in 1975, and opening at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of eight Sunday and Monday evening performances on Sunday, 29 April 2012.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its eighteenth season with John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath" in an adaptation by Frank Galati. This production features CSC Ensemble Members Justin McCombs, Sherman Fracher and Drew Fracher and is directed by Brian Isaac Phillips. "The Grapes of Wrath" opens on March 30th and runs through April 29, 2012. The production design is generously sponsored by AAA.
